Toddler Trike

Is your child ready to ride a bicycle?

Well, if he/she is not quite old enough for a bicycle yet, but is big enough to move on to something with wheels, then you might want to consider buying your child a toddler trike for their next birthday.

A toddler trike is like a bicycle with three wheels, but instead of being run on a chain, it is run with peddles that operate the front wheel.

The front wheel is also used to steer the small vehicle, making it both easy to operate and safe as well.

If you are going to buy a toddler trike (interchangeably known as a toddler tricycle) for your child, then there are a few things to consider before you hand over your credit card. First, you need to determine what size of tricycle is perfect for your child.

The best way to do this is to go to your nearest outlet store, and have your child try a few out. Whether or not you decide to buy your toddler tricycle at that store really doesn’t matter, because once you know what size you need, you can just buy it wherever you want to, including online.

It is important to get the right size, mostly for safety reasons. For instance, if you buy a trike that is too big, your child can fall off from failure to operate it properly. However, if it is too small, your child will not be able to fit into it right, which will result in them not being able to operate it.

It could also cause them to crash because if their legs are too big for the trike, they would not be able to steer properly. Buying a toddler tricycle that is the right size is very important, for a lot of reasons.

Another thing to consider when buying toddler trikes is the style. Your child might want a themed tricycle, or he/she might not care. Some toddler tricycles are themed with television shows or cartoons popular with your child’s age range.

Some kids really like trikes that are themed like this, while some kids don’t care. Having a bike themed like this is not necessarily going to cost you more, but it can be undesirable in some situations. For example, odds are good that your young boy will not want a Barbie themed tricycle!

Price, luckily, often is not a huge deal with toddler trikes, at least in comparison to adult 3 wheel bikes, or certainly the full suspension bikes. You will find a wide range of different prices, ranging from very expensive and fancy toddler tricycles to very inexpensive trikes that do not come with all of the bells and whistles. Buying the one in your price range should be easy, so don’t worry about having a huge budget when you get your kid a toddler tricycle.

A toddler trike is awesome because they give kids the chance to grow up a little bit without moving right on to the dangers associated with bicycle riding. Bicycles are fun, but moving onto them too suddenly will catch your child un-prepared. It will be much better for your child to take this small step first.

Feel free to check out the next few pages, which have specific discussions on the Schwinn Roadster, the Radio Flyer Classic trike, an additional Radio Flyer trike option, plus the Fisher Price Batman trike. We even showcase a few toddler scooters, if you prefer those over tricycles. Have a look around!
